Head Kore 87 Skis

The Head Kore 87 is a ski that bridges the gap between the frontside and the backside. Narrow enough for day-to-day use at the resort on hard packed snow, but wide enough to take on adventures off the groomers and into some natural terrain, this ski offers on piste prowess with tons of versatility. Just like the rest of the Kore line, the Kore 87 receives an updated construction. It uses a Karuba and Poplar wood core which keeps the ski light while also give it a nice lively feel overall. On top of the core, layers of Carbon Fiber and Graphene are added, along with Head's new Damping Layer to give the ski it's power and robust flex. By replacing the Koroyd layer found in older Kore models with the new Damping Layer, Head was able to reduce the weight of the ski and further improve the ski's stability and smooth feel. Aside from the updated construction and new graphic, the shape, profile and overall feel are essentially the same. Being the narrowest option in the Kore line, the Kore 87 has the least amount of rocker and taper, and has the most camber proportionately. This makes it a much better ski on firm snow and is better suited to those conditions than its wider counterparts. Because there is less taper in this ski, you get more of an extended sidecut which is great for carving as you get better edge hold from the ski. With that said the slight rocker does give the ski some forgiveness, and while it responds well to an aggressive skiing style, it won't punish you for your mistakes.
